- It's going to snow again tonight. I might cry.
- Nothing against snow. Lots against the pressure of busy season work load and having the boys home because everything shuts down at the slightest flurry.
- I'd like to give kudos to the owner of our daycare, who rocks. He tried and tried to open despite the ice/snow last week. Today, one of the teachers told me that Owner said he was opening No Matter What. I know there are limits, though, and we need to stay safe.
- Bryan had his CT scan of his head today. He also has the blocked up sinus cavities, but he also has granulomas in his nose and a partially deviated septum. No shocker there. He's going to do a sleep study before having his sinus surgery to see if the nose stuff needs to be fixed at the same time. They might also address issues with his soft palate depending on the sleep study. I doubt that he will stop snoring completely, but I can sleep through minor snoring. It's when he's extra tired or sick (read: all of the time lately) that I can't sleep through it.
- Our parent interview for Kindergarten got snowed out last week, so we've rescheduled for this Friday. Hopefully, it won't get snowed out again. Because of the change, we're now talking with the Lower School Head instead of the Dir of Admissions. I don't know him as well, so it will be nice to chat with him.
- Laura posted a video of Nate reading today! JTC is so close, too. I ordered him one of those BOB books that Nate is reading for a Valentine's treat. AJC is getting an alphabet knob puzzle.
- I did about 30 minutes of a Bob Harper workout DVD today, and I might not be able to walk or lift my arms tomorrow. Stay tuned.
- My friend, Bridget, had brain surgery last week to remove what turned out to be a benign cyst (yea!). She's facing a long recovery, so your prayers are requested!
- After almost 45 years in the ministry, our pastor is retiring in June. He will be very missed.
- I can't wait to celebrate Charlie's 7th birthday this weekend. We gave him a session at one of those indoor surfing places for Christmas, and we're all going to go watch him. JTC is super excited!
- Book: "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. Kindle download borrowed from LauraE. Loved this book. It's narrated by Death and tells the story of a young girl in Nazi Germany. Interesting perspective, since I think I have only read books from the Jewish perspective before. Two thumbs up.
- Book: "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer. $10.61 Kindle download. It killed me to pay that much for a Kindle book, but I had my heart set on borrowing it from LauraE, and it wasn't loanable. Boo. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. It's about a species called Souls that are parasites in human bodies. But what happens if the human's "self" doesn't go away? Two thumbs up.
- We rented "The Town" last weekend, and we both liked it. Lots of bad language, though, so make sure the kids are asleep.
- There is an iPhone app called Shazam that can "listen" to any song and tell you what it is. I can't tell you how many times I have wished I could Shazam a song in the past several years since I heard of it. Just the other day, I was listening to a new song on the radio thinking, "shoot, I wish I could Shazam that" when I realized that I COULD! It was a race to see if I could find and install the app before the song was over. I'm actually surprised that Shazam recognized it, as little as it got to hear! (oh, and it was "Dog Days are Over" by Florence + the Machine.)
- Last Sunday, JTC had his first invitation to go play at a friend's house without me! He had such a great time. StephanieY rocks for giving me an unexpected window to work while AJC napped!
- We watched the Super Bowl over at Andy and LauraE's again this year. It's always so much fun to have our families together. Plus, they have the rockin' media room. The kids were so good - I got to watch almost the entire game! The only time AJC cried was during half time, and I asked Bryan to handle it so I could watch the half time show.
- I made my MIL's oatmeal/cranberry/white choc chip cookies to take to the party. Darn, those are some good cookies. I finally had to send the leftovers to work with Bryan today so I wouldn't eat all of them in one sitting.
- And finally, I'm always a little thoughtful (and teary) on Feb.8 because this was my due date for the baby we didn't get to meet. Happy Potential Birthday, little bean.

I can't even imagine busy season + kiddos running around wanting your attention. It's been a crazy Dallas winter, that's for sure. Hang in there.
I thought The Town was really good too! Couldn't believe that's the same girl I watch on Gossip Girl!
Any stay at home mommies that are local you can either kid-swap with our just pay to occupy the boys so you can get some things done? That's sooo what we have do on a regular basis around here.
Bob books are awesome, broke ours out after seeing Laura's post. G went from "I can't read!" to "Huh, I guess I can read" after the first few. It was pretty funny.
Liked the host, going to have to add the other book you mentioned to my list. Just finished "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kotzkov. Different, but extra good.
Here's hoping for no snow day tomorrow! (And I just need to rub in, our windows are open. But don't worry, we'll pay for it come summer time!)
We just saw The Town too. It was good!
Cooper has had a few playdates recently with friends where I have not been along. Great for a break, but weird at the same time- how is it possible he's old enough for this?
Love Shazam too.
I am sorry for your loss.
Understandable to be a sad on this date. I too am sorry for your loss.
I really want to see "The Town". especially since it's something both Joe and I would like.
I am glad to hear you liked the Host. She has a planned trilogy from that book. The other two are the Soul and Seeker. Not sure when she will publish them though.
I can't wait to hear how the interview goes.
Here is to spring, which can not come soon enough!
You forgot to mention another awesome book you a reading. *ahem* Just kidding.
Yay for reading!
I can't believe it's Gumbo 91!
I always think of you when busy season starts since that's when you were due. I'll never forget those "sorry it's a busy season baby" posts.
Yay for quieter snoring!
OK, I just have to say that the idea of you telling Bryan to deal with a meltdown while you watched the Super Bowl cracks me up. Pure awesome.
