- AJC made this spider hat at school and loves it. Too cute! (Forgive the terrible phone pic, but it is Phone Photo Friday, after all.
- AJC made progress on his speech this week! He started making an "s" sound, and he said, "feet" with the "t" on the end! Yea, AJC!!!
- I went to a prospective Kindergarten parent lunch at School #3 on Wednesday. I think my bottom line is that this option is the very best we can offer to JTC. We just need to sit down and figure out how the other pieces of the puzzle will fit together to make it work.
- On that note, I had a flash of brilliance last night on where to put AJC next year. I'd been asking around and doing some research of pre-schools nearby School #3. Then it came to me: switch him back to Old Daycare. It's on the way to School #3 but closer to home. I was thinking ahead to the summer after Kindergarten - what would JTC do then? If AJC is in a pre-school close to School #3, then we have to do that drive all summer, too. If it's closer to home, then JTC can just go to a summer program here. There's more to my thought process, but this seems like my best option so far. Regardless, I will be sad to leave current daycare. Love it, but it's too far in the wrong direction.
- Bryan has 400 hours of overtime for the past four months. Believe me, we've had some serious talks about when/if it gets better, etc. He's exhausted, and we are too. He was home before the boys' bedtime last night for the first time in a while, and AJC was so excited he couldn't stop dancing around the room.
- Two weeks ago today, I started feeling sick. I am still at only about 80% energy, but it's finally significantly better. It's amazing what a difference having my voice back makes.
- Yesterday, Tara did Kiesa's and my hair at the same time, then we all went out to lunch together. Fun!
- As much as I swore up and down that I would avoid the jean-leggings trend, I bought two pairs of "jeggings" yesterday. These have normal jean tops and no stirrups, so they are not quite what I pictured when I thought of jeggings. They are just nice and skinny on my non-existent calves.
- Amy, Robert and Claire welcomed baby brother yesterday! I can't wait to meet him next Friday!
- My house is a disaster.
- I'm taking all of my style advice now from this site that LauraC introduced me to. It's so freeing to just roll the bottoms of my usually-too-short-anyways jeans. And the jeggings mentioned above are for wearing with my new tall, flat boots. (I should have just kept the ones I had in jr. high, huh?) I haven't quite embraced the belted look, but I'll think about it.
- I'm not a shopper, but I think I did really well yesterday: 25% off JTC's main Christmas present with a coupon at B&N, 30% off the infamous jeggings with Gap Give & Get coupon, 30% off a shirt at Old Navy with the same coupon, 3 t-shirts and this jacket for a grand total of $16 at Eddie Bauer and credit from 2005 used at Bath and Body Works. Oh, and I refrained from buying the $350 Cole Haan boots that I really wanted. That should count for something, too, right?

OH! Let me know if the jeggings are long enough. I was thinking of using my give and get to buy some for myself, but not all pairs are available in talls. What length inseam do you usually get in jeans, anyway?
I usually need 33.5 to 34 inches in my inseam, and sometimes can get away with 35 inches if I shrink them a bit in the wash.
I'm torn about jeggings. Even my skinny jeans give me issues tucking them into boots and I wonder if jeggings would do better. Though I'm worried about the fabric, I don't wear leggings out in public because I'm a little self-concious about my booty/thighs in them. Hmm, maybe I just need to go try on a pair.
My friend Jen's mom works at Cole Haan and gets 50% off!
400 hours? Holy @#&% That's crazy.
I'm glad to hear that you are starting to feel better. It took me over a month and two rounds of antibiotics to clear up my mess. I hope you get from 80% to 100% quickly.
Ugh, sorry you have been sick for so long. I seem to always lose my voice with every cold, which is really really not a good thing when you are a mom.
Dude, I thought my husband worked a lot--400 hours of OT? That is a TON!
I have been feeling really weirded out about the whole leggings thing. I am fine with skinny jeans and tall boots--in fact I really like this trend. But I see everyone walking around with cheap black stretch leggings paired with either flats or boots and all I can think about is 7th grade and how I wore these stirrup leggings that made my legs look like toothpicks with this gigantic purple top--oh so flattering.
You totally have the legs for jeggings - I wish I did, but they do nothing for my "muscular" thighs! :)
