I don't like shopping. There, I said it. I do, however, like buying. And I like nice things. So my general approach to shopping is to 1) decide what I want, 2) search online for the best possible deal I can get, then 3) go to the store (online or otherwise) to buy it. Please note that this is different than buying the cheapest thing out there because it is the best deal I can get. Nope - I usually decide what I want first. (Please see: recent purchase of tall flat boots).
I do the same thing with Christmas cards. First: I want a religious photo card on cardstock (not photo) paper. Next step is research. Trust me, over the past several years, I think I've seen them all. Since I'm looking for religious and I shy away from cheesy, that limits my choices right off the bat.
Last year, I ended up at Shutterfly, and I love how our card turned out. I definitely got the most bang for my buck with the folded card and 4 pictures for one of the lower prices on my spreadsheet of choices. (You know you're not surprised about the spreadsheet!)
This year is even better! Shutterfly has a lot more card options than I've seen in the past, and that includes religious, non-cheesy options. No, I'm not going to show you my favorite - you'll just have to wait for Christmas for that. As an added bonus, bloggers can get 50 free cards! How's that for finding the best possible deal on what I've already decided I want? Thanks, Shutterfly! (And thanks, Christy, for the tip!)

I'm feeling VERY NERVOUS about getting a family shot.
Let's just be happy if all four people are in the photo and someone is not crying :)
Sa-weeet! Thanks Lindsay!
I have my card all ready to order from Shutterfly but I am debating if I want to wait until they go down to 30%. How do bloggers get 50 free cards? Do tell.
I figured it out. But thanks for the tip. And can't wait to see how your card turns out!
It was so so SO nice to meet you. I know that the holidays are probably crazy, but I'd love to get together when your schedule is open. Perhaps the Children's Museum?
